"Riding a horse is not a gentle hobby, to be picked up and laid down like a game of Solitaire. It is a grand passion. It seizes a person whole and once it has done so, he will have to accept that his life will be radically changed."
--Ralph Waldo Emmerson
Equestrian Creations started as a way for a horse-crazy college student to make some extra money to support her horse habit. It began with commissioned horse portraits, expanded into handmade equestrian-themed cards and soaps, and then unexpectedly turned into graphic design and t-shirts. The products have evolved over the past 18 years but the one constant has been that their creator, Cassie Holmes, is an equestrian and a profound lover of all things horses.
Our mission is to design "mane"stream equestrian graphic tees that can be worn with pride and confidence both at the barn and after the barn. We craft the vast majority of our products in-house, in a small studio that overlooks our riding arena on our little "ranchito" in New Mexico.
Cassie Holmes, the owner of Equestrian Creations, was bitten by "the horse bug" at a very early age and has been an equine artist of sorts ever since she could pick up a crayon.
As an equestrian, she had many adventures with her horses Angel and Bebe. She is an Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Alumni from Oregon State University, having competed in both English and Western divisions and in the IHSA National Championship.
As a mother with young children, Cassie lives out her passions on an empty (...for now) horse farm designing equestrian apparel and stationery. Watch for her upcoming blog as she shares the transformations of her equestrian design studio, horse barn, and horse barn living quarters.
